Yaanam Parent is operated by Yugam International School for your child's school. Your school owns the student records shown in the app; Yaanam stores and displays them on the school's behalf. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
What we collect
- Your mobile number and name — to log you in and link you to your child.
- Your activity in the app — the trips you view, the complaints you raise, and the ratings you give.
- The parent app does not collect your phone's own location. You only view the bus's location, which is shared by the driver's device.
What you see, but we don't collect from you
- Your child's live bus location during a trip.
- Safety photos (boarding, drop-off, stops) taken by the bus crew for your child.
- Your child's details — name, class, route and stop — entered and owned by the school.
Why we use it
To log you in securely, show you your child's bus in real time, notify you about your child's trip, and let you raise and track complaints.
Who can see it
- You see only your own child's trip, location and photos.
- Your school's staff see their own school's operational data.
- We never share your data with third parties for their own use. We use trusted providers — cloud hosting, push notifications and maps — only to run the service.
Children's data
This app is used by adults — parents and guardians. Information about children is entered and owned by the school, and kept under the school's policy and applicable law. Photos of a child are shown only to that child's own guardians.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your school uses Yaanam. Some records — trip history and complaints — may be kept for a reasonable period for safety and audit, then deleted.
Your rights and deletion
You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time; see the account deletion page linked below. We remove your login and personal profile. Your child's records belong to the school and are kept per the school's policy and the law.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections and access is limited by role. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top of this page will change, and we may ask you to accept the policy again in the app.
