Delete your account & data

How to ask us to delete your Yaanam Parent account and personal data — and exactly what happens when you do.

Effective date: 1 August 2026

How to request deletion

You can ask us to delete your Yaanam Parent account and personal data at any time. There are two ways, and either is enough — you do not need to do both.

1. From inside the app

Open Profile → Request account deletion. The app records your request and opens your email app with the message below already filled in — just press send.

2. By email

If you no longer have the app installed, or your email app does not open, send this to gajraj@yugam.co:

I understand my login and personal profile will be removed, that this takes effect after 30 days unless I log in again, and that my child's records held by the school may be retained.

What happens next

Timing

Nothing is deleted automatically or immediately — every request is processed by a person. Deletion takes effect after 30 days. If you log in again within those 30 days, the request is cancelled and your account stays active — so an accidental request can always be undone.

What is deleted

  • Your login — your mobile number can no longer be used to sign in.
  • Your personal profile — your name and contact details held on your Yaanam account.
  • Your app-level preferences and notification tokens, so the app stops sending you notifications.

What is retained, and why

  • Your child's records — name, class, route, stop, attendance and trip history — belong to the school, not to your account. They are kept under the school's policy and applicable law.
  • Complaints you raised may be kept for a reasonable period where the school needs them for safety or audit.

Retained records are kept only as long as safety, audit or the law requires, and are then deleted. Full detail is in the Yaanam Parent Privacy Policy.
