Yaanam Driver is operated by Yugam International School for school transport staff. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
What we collect
- Your mobile number and name — to log you in.
- Your device's location — including in the background and when the phone is locked, but only while a trip is active — so that parents and the school can see the bus live. Location is not collected when no trip is running, and collection stops the moment the trip ends.
- Photos you take during a trip, for attendance, stops and bus condition.
Location — plain statement
The app uses precise location in the foreground and in the background, continuing when the app is closed or the phone is locked, only during an active trip, and solely to share the live bus position with the guardians of the children on that trip and with the school. A persistent notification is shown the whole time it is sharing, so you always know it is active. You control this through your device's location permission.
Why we use it
To log you in securely, share the live bus location during your trip, record attendance, and let you upload trip-related photos.
Who can see it
- The live location and attendance you record are shown to the school and to the guardians of the children on your trip.
- We never share your data with third parties for their own use. We use trusted providers — cloud hosting, push notifications and maps/routing — only to run the service.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your school uses Yaanam. Trip and location history and attendance records may be retained for a reasonable period for safety and audit, then deleted.
Your rights and deletion
You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time; see the account deletion page linked below. We remove your login and personal profile. Trip and attendance records the school needs for safety, audit or legal reasons may be retained.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections and access is limited by role. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top of this page will change, and we may ask you to accept the policy again in the app.
